The client wanted a new, attractive, efficient door.
The original door was in good shape (unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of it) but was old and wasn’t functioning very well. Removing the door, however, showed that the sill had decayed under the threshold from approximately 30 years of water running back along the stoop toward the house.
The new door is fiberglass with an embossed wood grained texture. The exterior was painted a colonial red. The interior was stained with several different shades to simulate real wood. Even up close it looks like wood.
